Dr Jessica Luzhansky

Dr. Jessica Luzhansky is an ophthalmologist, treating patients with:

  • cataracts

  • eyelid problems

  • glaucoma

  • pterygia

  • tear drainage problems

  • general eye issues

  • diabetic and macular degeneration screening

Dr. Luzhansky has achieved many honours. She was awarded a national merit scholarship in the USA and was selected for publication in Who’s Who among American High School Students, an honour awarded only to the top 0.5% of students in the entire USA.

Dr Luzhansky graduated from Monash University in 1998 with honours. She received the Sophie Davis Prize and gold medallion for the top graduating student in medicine. She also received numerous other prizes including three Faculty of Medicine Prizes for being the top student each year. She also received the Australian Medical Association Medical Officers of Health Prize. She was also a Golden Key National Honours Society member.

Dr Luzhansky underwent her ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear hospital, specialising in cataract surgery. She then completed her Oculoplastics Fellowship further specialising in the treatment of eyelid diseases including skin tumours and eyelid malpositions.

Dr Luzhansky regularly attends numerous local and international conferences. She has published her ophthalmological research in several scientific journals. She enjoys teaching, and has lectured at numerous workshops and clinical meetings for undergraduate and post-graduate optometrists, general practitioners, and medical students

She provided volunteer services in a Salvation Army missionary hospital in Zambia, Africa. She provided volunteer cataract surgery in Vietnam and Cambodia. She is keen to provide ongoing care to developing nations.

Dr Luzhansky speaks fluent Russian.
