Dr Lisa Farber

Dr Lisa Farber is an ophthalmologist.

Dr Lisa Farber undertook her medical training and specialist ophthalmology training in Johannesburg, South Africa. During her training she received the Neville Welsh Award for distinguished results in Part 1 of the Fellowship Examination of the College of Ophthalmologists of South Africa. She worked as a specialist ophthalmologist at St John Eye Hospital in Soweto following her training. Here she saw and treated a wide range of eye disorders. She was also involved in delivering eye care to underprivileged patients in rural areas in South Africa.

Lisa has been lucky enough to call Melbourne home since 2006 and undertook further training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital on her arrival here. She became a Fellow of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists in 2008.

Lisa joined Dr Jessica Luzhansky at 2020Now in 2012. Lisa is a visiting ophthalmologist at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and works at various private ophthalmology practices in Melbourne. Lisa is a general ophthalmologist with an interest in cataract and pterygium surgery as well as the surgical treatment of traumatic eye injuries. She has a special interest in retinal disorders including age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusions and peripheral retinal tears among others.

Lisa performs surgery for cataract and pterygium as well as minor eyelid disorders including chalazion removal. In addition to this, she performs intravitreal injections and retinal laser for the retinal disorders mentioned above.

She is committed to ensuring that her patients receive the best possible eye care.
